Being a Rocketeer means embodying our culture every day from the very first moment you join us! It’s essential to understand what it represents.

🔍 Back in 2020, during our annual Summit, something remarkable happened. Every Rocketeer gathered to explore our collective identity and what it means to be part of this dynamic team. The outcome was a vibrant mosaic of words, expressions, and quotes that encapsulated our essence, spirit, and drive. This mosaic ultimately crystallized into what we proudly call our DOTS.

Fast forward to 2023, a period marked by growth and personnel transitions. We recognized the need to recalibrate our cultural DNA to ensure it accurately reflects our evolving journey. After a thorough review, we found that our core DOTS remained intact, needing only a slight refinement. 

Every facet of our Culture Code is shaped by the voices and souls of Rocketeers, designed to mirror our authentic selves in our day-to-day operations.

Our Culture Code isn't just a set of words. It's crafted with the threads of our shared aspirations, values, and ambitions. It's a living testament to who we were, who we are, and the behaviors and competencies we should expect from every Rocketeer.

We Dream

Dream big, embrace change, and create a lasting impact through belief, action, and innovation. We chase our dreams boldly, shape a legacy through ambition, faith, and innovative actions.

  • Step out of comfort zones. Be creative and open-minded to tackle challenges.

  • Take smart risks and have courage to do hard things. And find joy in our work.

  • Act with intention and purpose. Get better each day to shape a promising future.

  • Leave a mark on the world. In big or small ways, be ambitious in your pursuit of making an impact.

  • “Dream in disguise” and neglect our core responsibilities. We balance dreams with reality.

  • Get stuck in “analysis-paralysis” or seeking the perfect. Have a bias for action and progress.

  • Think small, limited to personal aspirations. Look out for the greater good and offer to help.

  • Settle for basic expectations. We’re driven by growth and constant improvement.

We Own

We take ownership! Problem-solving, improving, and collaborating are our daily commitments. We embody a business mindset, delivering aligned solutions and proactive improvements, all while proudly wearing our signature shirts.

  • Expect perfection; mistakes happen. We accept responsibility, no “blame game.”

  • Struggle to address issues in line with our mission and lack accountability.

  • Take on the world alone. Not everything's for us; we manage our workload. Ownership also means learning to say no, delegate or escalate.

We Trust

Born in a remote environment, we thrive on trust. We cultivate teamwork through transparency, empathy, and enjoyment. Trust encourages a judgment-free space for seeking help and fosters unity among all Rocketeers.

  • Be transparent and reliable. Open and empathetic communication is key. And only works with feedback.

  • Understand we operate Remote-first. So we respect asynchronous conversations due to time zones.

  • Embrace imperfection and uncertainty. Recognize our flaws and admit mistakes. Initiate change.

  • Gossip or speak ill. We uplift and try to do the best for Rocket.Chat and our customers.

  • Have preconceived judgments; give time and space for actions to unfold.

  • Micromanage. We trust in competence and communicate expectations.

  • Delay in reaching out for help. Be objective and honest in communication. Treat everyone with respect.

Together > Alone! Sharing knowledge, celebrating achievements, and fostering a supportive environment define us. We believe that collaboration and transparency drive improvement and team growth.
