I - What Are the Culture Avengers?

Culture Avengers are a cross-functional, multilevel team dedicated to maintaining and evolving Rocket.Chat’s culture. They bring diverse perspectives to identify strengths and areas for improvement, helping shape effective cultural initiatives.

II - What Is an Avenger?

An Avenger is a guardian of our culture and a role model for our values. As an Avenger, you will:

✅ Actively shape and influence Rocket.Chat’s culture.
✅ Offer guidance and support for cultural initiatives.
✅ Lead by example in upholding company values.

Important:

  • Being an Avenger is a role, not a job assignment.

  • Your Avengers activities should not interfere with your regular work, and vice versa.

III - What’s Expected of You as an Avenger?

As an Avenger, you will:
Represent the Culture Avengers in meetings and discussions.
Participate in bi-monthly, 1-hour sync calls with fellow Avengers.
Engage in async & sync discussions on the Avengers channel.
Develop & deliver Avengers-related projects for Rocket.Chat.
Identify & contribute ideas to strengthen our culture.

IV - Red Flags to Be Aware Of

While being an Avenger is a voluntary commitment, it comes with responsibilities. The following behaviors are considered red flags:

Disregard for diversity, inclusion, or our core values (Dream, Trust, Own, Share).
Lack of participation in meetings or discussions.
Unwillingness to take ownership of tasks.
Resistance to feedback.
Failure to uphold confidentiality or breach of trust.
Neglecting regular work responsibilities due to Avengers activities.

⚠️ Consequences: If any red flags arise, the Avenger will receive a direct warning. If the issue persists, they will be removed from the team.
