Avengers Guidelines
1. Team Composition
Team Size: The Cultural Team will comprise up to 10% of the total company headcount. This ensures representation and diversity while maintaining a manageable group size. Note this % might be reviewed depending on company growth.
Core Members: The team should include a People representative and an Employer Branding representative to ensure alignment with key company functions.
Consultants: Depending on the specific needs of each project, additional members may be brought in as consultants. This includes people from the People team, Legal/Compliance, and other relevant departments based on the project scope.
2. Focus on Diversity
The selection of members for the Cultural Team should prioritize the following four objectives to ensure diversity and inclusivity:
Alignment with Company Values:
Members should identify with the company’s core values: Dream, Own, Trust, and Share.
Departmental Diversity:
Efforts should be made to ensure that all departments are represented within the team. While not every department will be represented each year, an effort will be made to ensure at least biennial representation across all teams. Larger departments may have more representation, while smaller ones will be represented proportionally.
Cultural Diversity:
The team should reflect the company’s global presence and strive for cultural diversity by including individuals from various regions and cultural backgrounds.
3. Leadership & Management
Team Leader Responsibilities:
The team leader will be responsible for meeting planning, agenda preparation, and tracking follow-ups to ensure project progress.
The leader should also supervise and support the team in unblocking stalled projects and ensuring that the team remains focused on goals and objectives.
The leader will be responsible for acknowledging new team members, and farewell messages for outgoing members, ensuring smooth transitions within the team.
Representation: The team leader will represent the Cultural Team during All Hands meetings alongside the People team.
Team leader is expected to be in touch with key stakeholders to discuss any events and share updates related to The Avengers.
Leader is expected to work on transition plans to new leaders as applicable.
4. Rules for Team Membership & Participation
Attendance:
Members are expected to attend all team meetings. If they miss three meetings without justification, they will be replaced by an alternate (members of “agents of shield).
Commitment:
Members must demonstrate active participation in the team's initiatives and projects. A consistent lack of engagement may result in a reevaluation of membership.
Sourcing of new Avengers:
Sourcing for new Avengers will happen at least once a year, being open to all rocketeers to apply.
Any forms need to be shared at least in 1 public forum meeting (such as The Gabes or an All Hands) and also shared on public company channels (i.e. important or core channels).

The people team can also review the Agents of Shield list and make adjustments to it as needed.
